SwizzTool – Alarms, Reminders, Scheduled Tasks, Clipboard
There are several bits and pieces you are going to like about the Jonas Andersson-developed application SwizzTool. The first thing you are going to like is the fact that the download will complete in no time at all. At less than 200KB, how long do you think it will take for the download to complete? Less time than it took to ask that question!
It will take even less time than that to have the application up and running. You see, what you are downloading is an archive. Inside the archive are all the bits you need to run SwizzTool. Simply extract the contents of the archive and launch the SwizzTool.exe. The application will be up and running as soon as you do that.
That’s right, you do not have to install SwizzTool. This means the application is portable. You can simply stick it on a USB stick for example and take it with you no matter where you want to go.
Speaking of using SwizzTool, the application should work just fine with all versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. The application can be used for as long as you want free of charge. Since SwizzTool is freeware, you do not have to pay to use it.
But if you are going to use it, here is what it has to offer from a functionality point of view:
- Set up alarms
- Set up reminders and automated tasks, like launching a program at a specific time.
- Save notes and memos
- Search the web. F2 searches Google (you can change it if you would like to use something other than Google), F3 searches IMDb and F4 searches Wikipedia.
- Create SwizzTool hotkeys
While the program is up and running, you can view it in the System Tray (the bottom right hand side of the screen). You can access the functionality it has to provide by right clicking the SwizzTool icon. If you want, you can set it up so that SwizzTool automatically runs at startup (you can do this from the Settings window).
